The hospital played, “Ode to Joy” to announce his arrival.
For a moment,
Staff paused their treatments,
Patients forgot their pain.
Hope filled their hearts
…..for a moment.
33-word micro-fiction post about the whole Boys Will Be Boys debate going on in our society. Thanks to my pal, Emily, for the word nurture as a story prompt.
Among the many characters I play: husband, father, son, retired elementary school teacher, writer, Cape Bretoner, lover of hot tea and, above all else, a gentleman. I strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others. In Life, I have chosen to be kind.

Well done Tom. I could actually visualize the event as you wrote it. I volunteer at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa and I could almost hear the “Ode to Joy”
being played and all staff, volunteers & visitors looking up, making eye contact with someone and smiling!
